Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching Services

As a psychologist, I harvest the research from behavioral science to help executives develop their interpersonal skills, enhance their performance, and effect change.

I work with you to identify and improve interpersonal skills, such as:

  • listening and responding,
  • ability to delegate,
  • public speaking,
  • ability to give feedback,
  • self-understanding,
  • presentation of self,
  • strategic thinking,
  • team functioning,
  • awareness and understanding of social cues,
  • theory of mind—the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes—in order to manage staff more effectively and to understand clients and colleagues better.

I can also work with you to enhance performance, such as:

  • theiability to identify obstacles in your own path, and then to work through and around those obstacles,
  • emotional regulation and responses to frustrations, setbacks, and obstacles,
  • prioritizing, stress management, time management,
  • minimizing perfectionism and procrastination tendencies that can hamper productivity,
  • effectively use your talents and abilities,
  • increase the ability to work effectively and efficiently.

In addition, I work with clients who are in the process of succession planning for business or estate planning, to help them clarify their values-based plans.

Executive Coaching FAQ

What is coaching, concretely?

A coach helps you to:

  1. Identify problems
  2. Design a plan of action
  3. Develop or improve skills
  4. Implement the plan of action, working through the inevitable changes and any obstacles

Why does coaching work?

Coaching works because it brings out your best. A coach believes you can create your own best answers and is trained to support you in that process. Part of my job is to be at least three steps ahead of you, yet be with you. As such, I make requests and suggestions.

How do you work?

My coaching can be done in person, via the telephone, or via videoconferencing. I see or call you at a prescheduled time. Most clients speak with me once per week. Appointments last 45 minutes. Clients pay in advance. Additional time is billed at a pro-rated amount.

What credentials do you have in order to coach?

I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and I am a certified personal coach. References furnished upon request.

What else should I know about how you work?

Please give me 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or change the time of an appointment. Otherwise, you will be charged for the session in full. I will make every effort to reschedule sessions that are cancelled in a timely manner. If you are going on vacation or can’t make a call one week, we will make up the time before you leave or after you return. I’ll call you at the appointed time.

What do you expect of your clients?

I ask that you grant our relationship enough room so that you can reach your goals quickly. What that means is that you share what you’re thinking and feeling and be willing to listen to what I have to say.

Please read the rest of the materials in your Welcome Packet and complete the questionnaires.

About Confidentiality

A coach doesn’t gossip. That means that what you are doing, how you are doing, what you have accomplished, and your personal secrets and confidences are not discussed or hinted at by me to anyone else. From time to time, the person who referred you to me may ask how you are doing. My stock answer: He or she is doing just fine. Period. The same goes for anyone you refer to me.
